Welcome to Yoga mit Maria

I practice the Dynamic Mindfulness method, a contemporary yoga approach rooted in Zen Buddhism, developed by Tatjana Mesar.

Movements are informed by biomechanical principles of how our bodies move. We find a balance of effort and ease as we move through and between poses dynamically, pulsing and bouncing to release our fascia.

We move from our inner core body, the hara, moving and sending waves through our bodies, unfolding from inner to outer. In this way, we arrive at the pose without needing adjustments, rather letting the transition determine the quality of the pose.

Mindfulness is at the core of the practice. Taking moments to pause and notice what is during the practice, and leaving enough time at the end of the physical class to fully relax in meditation.

We are all unique individuals with different needs and abilities. This means that poses will look different depending on the individual practicing them.

My goal is to make you feel at home in your body, just the way you are, and invite you to move freely.

Who am I?

Hey there, I'm Maria Helmrich.

I am a Dynamic Mindfulness yoga teacher, certified with the International Yoga Alliance (RYT 200).

I found yoga in 2011, as a tool for overcoming anxiety and self-limiting thought. My path finally led me to take a yoga teacher training in 2019 to dive deeper into my own practice and to be able to share this practice with others.

My classes currently take place in Berlin, Germany.

What people say:

"Maria's passion for yoga always shines through and her approach is very intuitive and playful. The classes are inclusive and well-suited to people from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. You are warmly invited to explore movement in a light-hearted way and challenge yourself to get off-balance sometimes (and laugh about it afterward). The guided meditations are also wonderful. I have been practicing yoga for many years and I am always excited to join Maria on the mat as she brings new awareness and an element of fun that is sorely missing from many modern yoga studios."
